Should my V6 have a splash shield underneath?
Standing under the V6 yesterday I noticed how OPEN the whole area is to debris and splash.
Shouldn't there be a splash shield? If not,I think I'm gonna fashion something.I mean anything or an animal ,even small, could tear it up pretty good under there.
I appreciate any responses.Thanks. don-ohio

No, the V6s do not have splash shields.
Still, you hit an animal with a PLASTIC shield, won't make a difference.
This is one for the GT though:
That won't protect anything. On my VW, I have an Osiris aluminum belly pan.
Over 1/8" thick too, and has saved the underneath on my '13 TDI, and now
my '15 TSI.

Get yourself a cheap rivet-nut set. Then, you can put a threaded hole in just
about anything, multitude of sizes. That is how I did my top rad cover, so I could
use dress up stuff:
Tool with well-nut on it, some call them rivet-nuts, same thing:
Drilled the hole out for the well-nut, replacing the push in fasteners:
Press in the well-nut:
Now have something to thread into:
Did the same with the upper grille:
Thus replaced all the push in fasteners with these bolts and washers:
Will do the same when I get the lower shield. Drill the holes, pop in the well nuts,
and can use bolts.

Thanks 08 Mustang! I have never seen this tool before. I've GOT to get one...............I hate those plastic pieces.
I just a few months ago replaced all my Aerostar van's cowl hold downs with metal screws. This might've been better. Thanks, again!
