Default Manual to auto swap, ideas?

to be short as i can with lots of history:
new ford owner but have good mechanic background in lots of areas. bought a 2007 4.0 V6 with a T5 and currently has 115,000 miles. i had hopes to pass on to my daughter as a first car, but she is to short to drive it as a manual in traffic and has issues bottoming the clutch out. over the past year the clutch has had some abuse and now im suspecting the input shaft and bearing are giving the growling noise im hearing going down the road so the transmission is soon to fail and will need replaced. being like everyone else money is tight and i try to save what i can.
i have considered buying a wrecked car with an auto trans and doing the swap. but i cant find much info in swapping to an auto. always the other way around. i can replace the T5 for about $600 and do the labor myself but still in the same vote with the daughter. ive found several wrecks from a 2005-2008 anywhere from $650-1200 with complete drivetrain so everything will be there parts wise to make the change.
so what im looking for is will 2005-10 work or will i need something close to my 07. assuming pcm and wiring harness will be a swap too, and updates to the auto transmission over the years should i stay away from the 05 and 06 and go for a 07-08. or what i hope not to hear is should i just put $1200 with mine and try and trade it off if i can get an auto but with a failing T5 they are not gonna want to swap. and i cant afford to replace the t5 and then trade. any help would be great and i figured here would be a great place to get some answers. thanks for your time

Not as easy as it use to be. Did it quite often back in the sixties, I would fix what you have and unload it. They have weak points and mine took a dump at 117000 miles. Any automatic you will find now will be high mileage, and all the work needed to do the swap hardly seem worth the effort.
