Transmission Noise Goes Away When I Push Shifter. Need Help!!!
Hey guys so I have a 2008 V6 with the Tremec T5 5 speed Transmission. When I've been driving for a bit and the vehicle warms up, at idle in neutral there is a noise coming from the shifter that sounds like gravel tumbling around. It's not super loud and it comes and goes as well as varies in volume.
Here's the thing, not only does the noise stop when I press the clutch pedal, but it goes away when I push the shifter even slightly toward any of the gear gates with the clutch not depressed. It also goes away if I add even a little revs (1000rpm or so).
Is this just a noisy transmission and I need to try a different type of tranny fluid? Or is there some shifter adjustment I need to make or is this some deeper problem like a bearing? There's not a lot of info about this problem and I'd really like to fix it.
