Default aluminum thermostat replacement

I just bought one off Ebay for 119. Came with a cheap-looking thermostat so I picked up a Ford thermostat and gasket Saturday. Will try to install Monday. Will let you know how it goes.

Well, I tried, but I cracked the thermostat housing cap. Bought 2 of them today from same seller. Won't be able to continue until after the 29th when they are supposed to arrive. I intend to be WAY MORE CAREFUL with it then.
So that means my cost is up to 133 with the one cap and 147 if you count buying an extra cap.

Well, when you do, Siber, obey the torque value and don't exceed 100 INCH/LBS. on the thermostat cap.
