New Edge Mustang Article
Hey Everyone,
The New Edge Mustang seemed to swoop in and hint at a new chassis trend for the Ford muscle car; the curves had changed. The impression seems to have stuck around even as classic styling resurfaces in successive bodies.
What did you think of the New Edge when it came out? Has your opinion changed? Was it a good or bad era for the Mustang? How is the present state of the Mustang stacking up?

"We" are of course prejudiced, however I believe the new-edge design represents a pure evolution of the Mustang "muscle car" image. The newer "retro" designs are just poor caricatures of the early 70s models.
Oddly, Chrysler got it right with the new Challengers...

Ever since they rolled out, I dreamed of owning this car, before I wanted a fox body, but 1999 changed all that.
Edit: Just noticed when looking b/t 2000 and 2001 the HP didn't change but the RPM did, what was the diff? The windsor to romeo blocks?

i agree next to the fox body, the new edges are the best looking mustangs. The curves are sharp and muscular, but the body doesnt have a boxy look to it. The side panels and front end reming me a lot of a '69 or a '70 stang, but thats just my .02$

New Edge mustangs have the sharpest body lines and the meanest looking stance. I love the Fox body mustangs too. I really don't like the new mustangs I think ford did a horrible job on them.
