thats why im dropping to a 3.90 ratio instead because I want my sanity back and to be able to accelerate to a decent speed without having to run it into the 2800rpm area each gear.

Why would you have to run it into 2800 rpm's each gear?

Don't forget you have a 98 GT with a much different transmission gear ratio.

Please remember that before you start scaring 3650 owners.

because im in like 5th gear at like 30mph and unless you wanna drive around at like 2800Rpms( which was a number given) I used to like shifting around 2 grand but now its hard to do that so i usually go up to 2300 or so and it uses quite abit of gas.

Is the gear oil necessary? Or will regular diff oil work?

Thats the price you pay to play, dont buy gears if you want a good MPG in your stang.
