Ok, I know people ask this a million times a day, but Im just curious as to what gear I may have..if I have any..Were under a lot of snow and ice here in PA, and i dont feel like crawling under my car to cound driveshaft rotations and all that good stuff. I may have stock gears, because it only pulls decently hard, and once i put it into 5th gear, it really bogs. But the reason I ask is that between 55-65 mph. I get a humming sound. I dont know if this was a previous install (bought the car used) or if it was a bad install from ford. The only thing I can tell you is that at 70mph my rpms are at 1,900....anyone have those same numbers??

You have stock 3.27s.... I am at about the same RPM at 70 and I have stock gears with the T45.

Alright, thanks man...now ill put the 4.10s from my ranger in there and know that it will make a difference....

I'm assuming your ranger has a 8.8 rear end???

I just replaced my ranger 7.5 with an 8.8 last year and put FRPP 4.10s in it..I was gonna do a 5.0 swap but lost interest

Ahh cool. Just makin sure you didn't try to put 7.5 gears into an 8.8 rear end. I know my friend's ranger has the 7.5 so I wasn't sure...

yeah, im definitely puttin the 7.5 back in the ranger and sellin it...im assuming since the gears are only about a year old, that theyll be ok to swap...I never really beat on the truck and they were installed right...never hummed or anything..so I figured that will save me about 180-200 bucks on gears...
