lol yea I agree, although professioansl can get a manual stock for stock vs an auto ask yourself if your a professional driver or not. I'd say it's probably even maybe even auto is faster stock for stock b/c it is consistent as opposed to you (not really you, this is towards everybody). Only if you've been driving 5 spd for a good portion of your life will u be able to keep up with an auto with a shift kit and gears. O and on that V6 note, the rear end is different than the GT, I doubt your v6 could keep up with an auto GT, even a 96-98. Just becuase the torque is much higher than your V6 and the rearend is better.

all you need is a diablo to firm up shifts and change shift points.

here is a slip of a auto V-6 running 15.8slip a bolt on 5 speed should take a stock auto GT, but few are stock, and F/I on a V-6 should be able to take a 99-04 GT

I have seen many auto's run 14.2 and some even lower stock. I dont think many 6pots with standard bolt-ons are going to run that fast. Im not saying its not possible, but its going to take some money to mod a v6 to run high 13's low 14's. Ive looked through the timeslips on here and have only found one 99+ v6 in the 13's and its supercharged.

a v-6 could hang with a stock auto GT.I have to ask were you get your info from are we talking 2006 or 99-04 models?because if thats the case why is the insurance so much more for the GT.Ive never really raced a v-6 but have owned an 03 six cylinder manual and had nowhere near the acceleration as my 01 mustang GT manual I curently own.Are auto's that much slower than a manual seeing that theres more consistancy of not missing gears?I know when i'm redlined shifting into 3rd is sometimes like hitting a wall and wont let you shift fast.

They are honestly not that much slower. My 3 best friends have 99+ mustang GT's along with me and im always keeping up/even with other two modded ones.

A shift kit, stall converter and a tranny cooler is all you need. Add gears to rape him even more.
