Default C&L True Flow Pipe & 8

I just want to let everyone knowhow wellthe C&amp;L Inlet Pipe, 85mm mass air meter andBig K&amp;N filterwork together on my 02 GT V8 2V. I purchased this set up last week from RPM Outlet for $366 shipped. I believe this is the cheapest shipped price on the net. I received it yesterday and hooked it up in 20 minutes. Priorto that, Iused a MAI. The Mac Cold Air pipe,in my estimation, isvirtually worthless. I don't know if it is the C&amp;L Pipe and larger air meter in itself, or it, and the combination of bolts ons that make the C&amp;L set up work so very well. But what ever it is,it is the best bolt on,power wise,I have put onmy 02 4.6 2V.I also have the C&amp;L upper intake Plenum and BBK 75mm Throttle Body to go with underdrive pulleys, Magna Flow catted X, Mac Cat Backs with 3.5" tips, BBK headerswith3:73's. With each of those applications (I put on one at a time), I have not felt such a massive increase in upper rpm power that this pipe and meter added. Again, perhaps my engine needed that extra air flow and the 85mm meter made the difference. I don't know. But it worked and worked with out any leaning out -- as some experts have warned me. NO pinging occured under load of any sort. I use 93 octaine fuel. <edited><editID>wpix</editID><editDate>38032.8359490741</editDate></edited>

Nice. I am looking into doing the C&amp;L set-up myself. So far I haven't heard a bad thing about it. let me know what they Dyno numbers look like now.

You CAN'T go wrong. I am taking my Stang to the Dyno this Monday for 4 or 5 pull tune. My last rwhp rating was at 267. I drive an automatic which takes 15-20 rwhp off the bat. But I will let you know the exact dyno results Monday night.

I have the C&amp;L and the pipe and it is awesome.</P>

Of course it made a difference because you had the CAI crap and it STILL couldn't breathe. If you listen you can hear the K&amp;N sucking in the air...it's GREAT!</P>

It also helped that you had the Plenum and the 75mm BBK TB<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>

I recommend it to anyone.</P>

Yes, I did hear the K&amp;M filter working while standing in front of it. The air space on the K&amp;M is at least twice that of the Mac filter supplied on their worthless pipe. The 4.6 2V truly thrives on the added air flow supplied by the bigger meter and specially shaped inlet tube. Why I listened to people who insisted that this precision, dyno tested piece would be counter productive and self defeating, causing leaning out and detonation is truly beyond me. I am glad that I decided to chance it. Dollar for dollar, it is hands down the finest bolt on I have put on my Stang -- With out a glimmer of doubt.</P>

You can't doubt the C&amp;L products. This is what they do...all they do. They Dyno test everything and they don't put it on the market until they have the best product for your Stang. They redid the plenum, showed you the dyno #'s and told you to get the 75mm BBK TB when everyone says it's overkill. Theyshow youthe results with the 70mm and the results with the 75mm. </P>

I can't wait for their lower<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0"></P>

<U>Glad you made a great choice!</U></P>

Hey wpix...told that C&L would be just fine for your Stang[8D]! You'll not have to worry about the infamous 'ping.' Great choice!

I had my Stang Dyno tuned yesterday at Mustang Magic in Deer Park, New York. See www.MustangMagic.com. This was the second time I had a dyno tune at this place. The first tune, back on 11/28/03 netted 267 rwhp with the following mods: MCI, C&L Plenum, BBK 75mm TB, BBK Headers, Magna Hi Flow Catted X, Mac Catback w/3.5 tips, pulleys and 3.73's . Yesterday's tune 2/16/04 had one additional mod: C&L pipe with 85mm Mass Air Meter. The first pull netted 279 rwhp, a 12 rwhp gain -- and it ran a tad rich! After some tinkering around, 3 pulls later, I had 286 rwhp and a $350 bill. This was a surprisingly high output for a 4.6 2V. Ordinarily, to get 286 rwhp, you have to get into the engine, change a camshaft, heads, or pistons. What is amounts to is this specific combination of bolt on's. It got my 4.6 to wake up.
