<FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" color=blue size=2>I looking to buy a 96 Cobra Convertible for 10K. Vehicle is really clean inside and out with 76k for miles. Orginal owner, that has retired and wants to sell. I will need to put new tires and some cleaning here and there. The only problem is the check engine light came on when I jumped in for a test drive. The owner is going to take it into the Ford dealer to see why the light came on and have the problem fixed. Is 10K a good price for this vehicle and what about thye check engine light deal? My name is also mike and I also live in Az

10K for a 96 Cobra Convertible seems like a good deal to me. Little high on the mileage but it still sounds like a good deal. I bought my 96 GT for 9K and it has 60K miles on it. As for the check engine light as long as he is taking it to the ford dealership to get it fixed it should be alright. Just make sure he doesnt take it there and tell them to just turn off the light since he is selling it or something like that. Ask him why it came on and what Ford did to fix it.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I will be very intrested to hear what Ford says why the light came on and what they did to fix it. What type of tires do you currently have? Any modes done to your GT?

I have Toyo tires on mine except my right rear which is some cheap good year tire [X(] I hit a nail and it got stuck in my sidewall so I had to buy a new tire. I actually just got my American Thunder Flowmaster cat back exhaust installed today. I love it, the sound of it is so nice I love that deep grumble you get from it. Other than the exhaust it is stock for now. What part of Az you live in?

Picked up the Cobra on Thursday night. The problem with the check engine was a misfire on 1 & 8. Ford tech replaced fuel filter and ran fuel injector through the injectors per the paperwork. Drove it home over an hours drive felt great. Got it up to 100 for a bit. The wife and I just detailed the inside this weekend. Just picked up some Chrome exhaust slip ons and a SVT Cobra front hood ornament. Also buying the Cobra decal for the rear bumper. What are some inexpensive mods to do?
