Question about heads
Alright guys, some real tech questions coming your way:
1st) I don't want to spend $1200 on new heads, so I plan on getting mine Ported and Polished. What are some places where I can get this done, a few different ideas would be nice so I can compare prices. And is it a good idea to just get them P&P, or would I be better off getting new heads. How much will it cost to get them P&P.
2nd) I am planning on getting a new cam this summer. Also a new intake. I am thinkin' about the stage 1 cam from VT. I know I shouldn't use the stage 2 cam because the stock internals cannot hanle the higher RPM band. I am fine with the stage 1 cams. How hard are the cams to install. I shouldn't need new spring with the stage 1. I can install the intake easily, I am thinkin' the new typhoon intake from Anderson Motor Sports, just came out, 5.0 Mustangs and Superfords product test dyno showed gains as high as 23 HP, not bad for $500, but not great either. Anway, I know it will take some time, but anything I should be worried about when putting the cam in?
I am hoping with the new cam, P&P heads, and new lower intake, and the mods I currently have, to dyno around 280 to 300 RWHP. Not unreasonable, I doubt I will hit 300, maybe on a good day. ANy tips you guys have for the install would be great.

RE: Question about heads
To properly P&P modular heads....make sure the shop you use is well versed in these heads. I believe P&P will cost you about the same $$ that you stated you didn't want to spend.
