I've been thinking of cutting my radio antenna to make it shorter. I just think that it's way too high and I think it would look better if I would shorten it a bit. But I want to know some of the opinions that are out there as to how short I should make it. I have a friend that commented about it and he said that some people talk about the "first wave" and "second wave heights". I'm not sure what he was talking about. Do any of ya'll know? If not how short would some of ya'll make it?

There are aftermarket ones that you can get that are shorter and they match the color of you car. If you just want to cut it....I would cut it about half way to flow with the difference between the hood and the top of the car.

they make em as small as 8 inches aftermarket

when you cut it, did you notice any reception differences?

+1 I cut 10-12 inches off of mine. It's about 2" taller than the roof of the car and i still get perfet reception.
