Default Nitrous with a PI head swap

It is my understanding that with the PI head swap on my 98 GT, my compression ratio is higher than stock. What is a biggest shot of nitrous I could use without running into detonation problems (I'll use premium gas)?

Nitrous LOVES compression, so higher compression with nitrous is a good thing.

But with higher compression, isn't it easier to run into detonation? I know its safer to run higher boost with lower compression, but what is a safe amount for high compression?

Are you talking about nitrous or S/C? If it's S/C. you really don't want over 9.0:1

he said n20 so im guessing n20 lol, so if you were to run a 100shot on a 9.5C:1/R and say it makes (Example numbers) 90 more hp, then you swap heads and have 10.5:1 C/R and you do the same 100shot you will pick up more (Example numbers) like 110 or 120?
just make sure its timed right and with a PI swap you will have to use 91 or 93 gas

Excellent

Can anybody recommend a good kit to use? I'm thinking about the Zex Wet shot kit... The zex kit looks clean and easy to install, and it is relatively inexpensive. I think it is capable of a 75 shot to 125 or so, so I think that would be perfect.

Dont buy ZEX!!!!

Its junk and most will tell you this, that smart box thing is bad news, i love the nitrous direct kit, compucar makes a very easy to install kit, whatever you do, dont buy ZEX!!

Wow. Ok, can you tell me why it is junk? I'm just curious. I just thought it was nice cuz it cleans everything up, but i guess there are problems with it... what is the benefit of other kits over the zex kit?

Zex has the brain box, that thing messes everything up when it has a malfunction, which it usually does sometime down the road, other kits just dont use that brain box item and its alot safer, just run a WOT swtich or a window switch and you will be fine. But good kits are NX/NOS/edlebrock/nitrous direct/compucar/ I wanted to use a kit that was designed for my car so i went with a nitrous direct kit. Just stay away from zex unless your running a dry shot, i dont think a dry shot uses the brain box. If you have any more questions PM me. I can go into alot more detail with you as im sure other guys can to that have experience with the juice.
