i get that too when i romp on it, kinda a sick sweet smell that i thought i have read that might be a converter. my convertrs are new with my X so not is sure what is up with that.

Well guys if you describe the smell as sweet, its probably coolant. Thats the only sweet burnt smell ive ever noticed for any car.I dont know if you guys have already cracked and replaced your Intake mani yet, but thats exactly what mine did. If its coolant, see if u can find where its coming from.

i have a rottened egg smell from when i get on it but thats just cause the car is boosted. 
i use to have that same smell in my car... it was the clutch that would smell.... and then after the clutch got fixed.... i got headers and an X pipe so the new cats would always smell like crap... haha.

I think I know what you're talking about. I get that smell too after I lay it down hard sometimes. I always thought it was the clutch. But even when I make perfect shifts it still smells sometimes.

I found a new mechanic guys thanks for all your input this guy is more experienced and works with mostly sports cars been in business for 20 years, Imma get a new fuel filter, service the Tranny and get my oil changed with him for this one time. I'll tell you if I still smell it but is smells right around the back tires! Could it be my Catback burning ? Its near the back of the car I cannot smell it in the engine

Is your exhaust new? Well check to make sure your exhaust isn't close or rubbing on anything underneath the car. It will end up beind the last thing anyones ever thought of, or something so obvious youd never think about it.

New exhausts smell like *** for a couple weeks or so after you put them on.
