Half a tank?!

RE: Half a tank?!
If you drive around town alot, and drive hard you'll see 18, drive easy you'll see 20 city. Highway, I've gotten outrageous (great) mileage, low 26, high, 30. I shift my car at 2500 rpm's for best economy, and yes, it has no trouble going into 5th and pulling at 40mph.

I can bet you it is because of the style of engine. The v6s are the OHV engine, cam in block. These no matter what way you slice it, comapred to the OHC v8 get worse milage, but the cam in block engines are always good for low end torque.
The v8 have the ohc setup which has very smooth operation and everything is compacted a bit more so it's more efficient.

Try shifting at like every 10 mph...2nd at 10mph, 3rd and 20 mph, etc. that should help your gas mileage out.

I do kinda the same thing....i shift to 2nd somewhere around 15mph and i go into 3rd usually at about 25 and then 4th gear at about 30, then i dont hit 5th until 45+...usually around 50, but there is are only a few places that i go 45...most are 35...
oh yeah, and just driving around town and interstate a few miles everyday to work...The lowest i got out of ONE tank was 170, and the most i have got out of one take was like 250...
