that means theres a single over head cam. supporting your 16 valve v8. compared to a 32 valve. motor with a dual over head cam supporting the 16 valves each head. get it? my opinion on which is better? id say whichever you can afford.

Cobras and mach 1's are 4v or 32 valve engines. More air and fuel and higher rpms.

i believe we feel more "torqey" vs the DOHC cobras and machs.. but then again they pull till 7k sometimes and that pull is solid and strong..

(i got this assumption from a buddies 99GT with work, and then someone elses 96 cobra with some work..) the gt felt much more torquey early in the rpm, but the cobra just pulled much harder later in the rpms..

w/e my .02$

right. I was talking to someone and they said that in a 96 cobra VS GT, the two would pull even for a couple thousand rpms from a stand still and then the cobra would annhililate the GT.

Dohc pull hard much higher than sohc. More air and fuel coming in. The japanese car makers learned this a long time ago.

Unfortunately the theory of torque is completely lost on them
