Default Rearend upgrade?

I have been thinking about rebuilding the rear end to stand up to slicks.

What all do I need? Is there anywhere I can look at a complete kit?

I know of someone who had so much torque and hooked up so well with slicks that he actually tore the ring and pinion out of his car. The most bullet proof rearend I know of is the Ford 9". It is legendary in auto racing history. Don't know exactly how it would marry to a Mustang rear but I am sure it can be done.

I've heard an eaton 31 splin axle is all you'll need. I may be wrong though.

31 Spline Axles and an Eaton Posi is a good way to start.

I would think about full length subframes, upper and lower control arms, and possibly welding up the torque boxes.
