Transmission - Which to buy?
I need to buy a transmission for my 2003 Mustang GT. I really don't want to go out on the limb and purchase a TKO transmission, even though i have heard great things about those transmissions. Anyway. My tremec 3650 is a piece of sh** hands down. The syncronizers are completely gone in 2nd and 3rd. I was wondering if I should buy another 3650 or just go and get a T-45 that was in the 99-00 GT.
Do the tranny mounts line up with the t-45 on my car? Im just trying to decide.....

the 3650 is actually suppose to be better than the t-45. But it would bolt right up. They do make a rebuild kit that will make the t-45 better, probly have it bookmarked, probly also has a 3650 rebuild on there site. the t-56 will need a shorter driveshaft, but bolt up also.

http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com/ makes a rebuild kit for the t-45 suppose to be better than the stock components. And no one has any aftermarket parts for the tremec 3650
I have not had any problems with my t-45, but supposively its weaker than the 3650

There is no "Out on a limb" with the TKOs except for the price. And they are still cheaper than a good T-56. Other than the 6th gear, the TKO is also a far far superior transmission. The 500 was the best decsion I made when tranny #2 died. Of the so far installed parts I would say the 500 is my best decsion overall (blower not counting
)

I might purchase a T-45 and have it built....
So a t-45 out of a 2000 Gt will bolt right up with no problems??? Also what about the speedo and everything? Just checking
