3v 4.6
anyone ever thought about going from 2v to 3v in their new edge mustang? I mean 40 hp out of the box, which means you can easily hit 400 n/a. I'm sure the cost would be ridiculous, and most people might say just throw in a 4v instead. And heres a silly question, were any cobras available in automatics? i doubt it but if i wanted to eventually swap to 4v, would i be able to stay w/ the same transmission i have now? (4rw70)

RE: 3v 4.6
Never heard of the 2v to 3v swap but I am guessing it would be easier and more cost effective to just do a motor swap. And I would think that you could use an auto with a Cobra motor. Just because they never made them in automatics doesn't mean the motor isn't compatible with an auto.

RE: 3v 4.6
I would think the biggest issue would be the computer harness/processor. The 3 valve mill has Variable valve timing, this is what gives it alot of punch, without a lot of fuss. I had one of these in 5.4 trim in my '04 F-150, that engine was 300HP, and IT MOVED! I amazed a guy with a V-TEC Accord one day, with a Thru way two lane on-ramp duel. I smoked him soundly, in a 5300lb Bus. great engine!
My pick, (and I may grab one) is the Lincoln Mark VIII all aluminum 4.6L 4V INTEK engine. These cars are getting very cheap to buy, (I saw one for $2800.) grab the engine, trash the car, Nice, light, Mustang 4V power plant. So if I get one I'll throw it on a stand, and start picking my engine partsand build a nice NA, or supercharged (not sure of the block strength on these cars) engine.
