The heads will fit, but you might run into some valve cover probs. The Romeo hads and the windsor heads use different valve covers. From 99 to 2000 I believe they used windsor heads, which use different valve covers. So your valve covers you have now will not fit. The 2001 and up heads are the Romeo heads, and they use the same bolt pattern as your 97's. I have also seen cases where you will run into an alternator bracket problem as well using the 99 to 2000 intake. 2001 and above it is a direct swap with no problems, from what I have read.

Here is the article where I got my info from, just incase you are wondering. http://www.bossracing.net/PI%20Head%20Swap%20page1.htm
It is a really nice article to read if someone was curious about doing the swap.

I'm in the process of getting my heads and lower intake ported and polished. The costs have run me about 2000 so far, maybe less. I just been rounding up on everything and I sold some old parts for about 315 dollars. Depending on the install im guessing total around 2500.

these are pretty much the only issues you will run into, but it's really no big deal. any good speed shop can do this, for example getting the right valve covers is cheap and easy, the shop im going through for my swap usually has them laying around and will throw them in for free. they also have swap kits wich include all gaskets and hardware needed, and most speed shops will get this so you dont have to. just take them the heads, tell them what you want done, and it can be done perfectly without expensive unexpected costs or major delays, within reason of course.
