Installing my Throttle body and plenum tommrrow!
Hey guys, im an amature mechanic im only 17 and im gonna try to install my 75 MM throttle body and my Plenum tommrrow. Ive heard some bad stories on how if you dont do it just right it can have a vaccum leak and whistle. How do I avoid this and does anyone have any instruction to install its a C&L plenum BBK 75MM Throttle body! Any advice and things to check? I Hope this is an easy install

be very careful with the plastic TPS sensor , the screws are gonna be a pain in the a$$ to get off, just use the screw driver and tap (TAP NOT POUND) the end of the screwdriver with a hammer while turning and that will get them out, after u have the new plenum on make u sure u tighten the bolts down evenly, dont just tighten them down one at a time, alternate side to side, this should help aviod any leakes and make everything nice and even. Other than that it is very simple, i did mine about 2 weeks ago and i am also inexperienced (im 19) it only took me about 1 1/2 hr. Good luck man and have fun, its more satisfying when you do this stuff yourself rather than a shop isnt it?

Some combinations whistle more then others.
You should check for leaks.
Get a can of carb cleaner, start the car and let it idle, spray just a little bit at all the connections and listen for an idle speed change. If you don't have any changes you are good to go.
I would STRONGLY recommend you do this when the motor is cold. Carb cleaner is highly flammable and I wouldn't want you to get your car lit up.

I dont think you'll have much of a problem aslong as you've done other stuff like intakes, and brakes, you should be ok. I was about your age when I put on my first CAI, it was a pain, but I got it own my own, than brakes became easy and now I think I can do a t/b and plenum myself. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

its pretty simple i just did mine last nite it was a bbk with plenum. and it took 30 mins. just remember all the vacuum lines. yea the TPS is a bitch. but u will definatly feel power gain from 4k on and louder engine note too. i think the mod was well worth it
