Default rpm,s dont drop enough between shifts

I own a 01 bullitt gt...5spd 4.6 twin 57's
When shifting the rpm's dont drop inbetween shifts.
It does the same thing when sitting still and revving it up.
The rpm's seem to hang when foot is out of the throttle.
The rpm's do drop after a few seconds but this seems like a slow reaction to me.
This has been a problem sence the car was new but seems like it is getting worse.
Any advice would be apreciated.

if you have twin 57's that will contribute, your turbos are pushing air through your engine, and your engine takes a second to wind down, its very normal with FI engines, cobras do this stock.

Bullitt has twin bore 57mm Throttle Body. I don't think he was talking about turbos.

as far as this topic is concerned, it's not a Bullitt thing, this is how all Mustangs work and it's not really a problem.
There is a fix listed in this post: https://mustangforums.com/m_166295/m.../tm.htm#166651

Sorry guys...i meant twin 57mm throttle body not turbos.
I prefer the engine braking of a carburetted engine as on my british cars but definetly prefer american horsepower!
This throttle hang has annoyed me from day one with the bullitt.
Hope to find some sound advice here.
Thanks guys!

Thanks for the link Fallstar.
I get the bullitt out of storage soon and this fix will be priority.

It's not an easy fix, but you can always swap to a lightweight flywheel or aluminum driveshaft. That will help the rpm's drop quicker.
