Default Caution, Seat Bolts

I put subframes on my car this weekend. In the kit you remove and replace your rear seat bolts with longer ones supplied. My car is an '04, never seen winter, and believe it or not, I had to heat the threaded bosses with my torch to remove the bolts. One bolt snapped so I had to heat it, grab it with a vice grip and then remove it from the bottom. I've run into this before with Fords, I had to do the same to my son's Ranger as well. All I can say is start soaking them with PB blaster a week before you remove them, and have a torch handy, just in case. BTW, the subframes are AWESOME, the car's chassis feels ridgid as hell now, best $49.95 Mod I've ever done on the car!

Default RE: Caution, Seat Bolts

Yup, happened to me too... One of the seat bolts was stuck and I broke the head off when I tried to break it free with a breaker bar...Had to heat it up and remove it from the bottom..
