Default Need help with shocks

Hello everyone, I bought my 1997 GT about 6 months ago and it already came with a 2 inch drop, the shocks however were kept stock and the car rides horrible, bounces everywhere and really does not stick to the ground. I need some help choosing some good shocks, I want a fairly smooth ride because this is my daily driver yet I want to have good cornering. Anyone who's got a set up they are particularly happy with please help me out with the brand and kind of shocks I should get. ( for a decent price) Also because the car was dropped my front wheels tend to rub against the front sway bar when I crank the steering wheel the whole way, does anyone know of a good aftermarket sway bar that would solve this problem?
Much thanks

Shocks are critical for the handling on your car. It all depends on what kind of driving/racing you want to do. The shocks have to be set up different for cornering as opposed to drag racing. Drag racing you want the car to shift weight from front to back on take off to eliminate wheel spin, then level out fast for wind resistance. Cornering you want the car to be even all around.

Yes I would suggest the Bilsteins!! They do a great job of giving a nice ride on not so smooth roads. Also if you have a 2" drop right now, you maybe bottoming out the struts. Purchase a good quality set of c/c plates (max. mtrsprts). They will allow you to raise the installed height of the strut to give it more travel. Also a much better alignment set-up.
