2000 GT Rear Brakes Problem
i replaced all of the pads and rotors in my friends 2000 mustang gt. the car drove fine for 3 days now 50% of his time driving he has a loud humming noise coming from his rear brakes at all speeds. when he hits the brakes the noise stops. i did not shim the rear pads. is it necessary to align and shim the pads so they dont rub the rotor or should i look into another possible cause. thanks ~Jason

RE: 2000 GT Rear Brakes Problem
Humm...
This could be a few things. You dont have to shim the pads at all. They should be aligned just shoving them in.
If its a bad vibration it could be that the rotor that you got is warped. Even being warped ever so slightly can make a bad vibration.
What brand rotors and pads?
