Spark Plugs for the 4.6 SOHC

RE: Spark Plugs for the 4.6 SOHC
On lower octane I prefer a copper plugs since they don't create as hot a spark as platinums and will allow for more timing advance (within reason) on 87. I'm surprised that so many of you use NGK's, but then agin they do make excellent plugs. At the moment, I have Autolite's installed and the stock Motorcraft plugs that came out looked **** nasty.

in compairing NGK and Boch...
I've heard many many good things about NGK and don't think i've ever heard anything bad about them
I've heard both good and bad things about Boch
doesn't common sence tell you that you would have better luck getting a good plug with NGK??

For some reason, I have read in many forums on various Mustang websites that Bosch platinums are definitely not recommended for use in Mustangs. Seems most have problems of some sort and yank them right out again. I have run NGK's without any problems but they will not last as long as the stock Motorcraft platinums. I think the stock plug is actually a double platinium which has even a longer life yet. I have heard good reports about iridium plugs of which NGK does make that variety as well. Myself, I intend on trying a set of the new designed E3 plugs this spring. Already have the set ready for install. They are pretty slick. Advance Auto Parts has the best price on them, about $6.99 each. Still way cheaper than any iridium plugs out there. And, they carry a 100,000 mile, 5 year warranty. Check it out:
