Default Throttle Body

Alright.... i just got some money and i already ordered my rims and today i just ordered mach 1 spoiler and grille delete. now i am stuck on the next mod for the engine... looking at a BBK 75mm throttle body and a Diablo Programmer. would it be beter to get a throttle body and plenum (349.99) or just the throttle body and tuner. cuz i am getting bigger rims and tires so a tuner may be better right now. plus it adds like 10 -15 hp plus the throttle body. another quick question when i get the tuner will my car run better with a bigger intake that i have... will i get the full HP out of the intake and the rest of my mods?

thanks for all your help
matt (uscg)

I don't think you can add just a TB, you need to add the plenum as well. I wouldn't pay $350 for a tb and plenum though. Get the gears and programmer package at rpmoutlet.

You can do just a throttle body. Check the height of your tires when you get new ones. I stepped up to 295/35-18 in the rear (from the factory 245/45-17) and the tire height was only .35" more... my speedometer is only slow 2-3 MPH at 70. That difference in height can also be attributed to new-found tread [8D] If the height is going to be almost the same, go with the TB and plenum (although the money is better spent elsewhere).

just get the MAC tb/plenum. it's like $289 or something i think from lmperformance.com. the MAC actually put down 2RWHP more than the accufab did on my car. i kept the accufab cause it looked prettier and the shop gave it to me for a steal. so i sold my MAC.

+1... I have the same combo and got the TB for $150 & Plenum for $140. Talk about a decent power gain! I'd wait on the tuner until you have a few more mods and gears though..
