Same with my 04, I need 6.5. See, (from previous threads) some say their car takes 5. Some say 6. Some say 6.5 I dont understand why there is such a difference especially if we all have a 4.6 I can see a deeper oil pan, but im sure thats not the case. [&:]

My '98 GT takes 6 quarts when changing oil and filter. If you should use a full sized filter such as the FL-1 instead of the 1/2 sized standard Mustang 4.6 filter, then I would think an extra half quart would be needed.

Royal Purple in crankcase, tranny and rearend. Good stuff!!
