Cobra Swap
I just finished looking through the local calssifieds and came across a 1998 cobra, the ad says simply damage, and its a rebuilder. So im ganna call in a little while and see whats up with it. IF i were to get ahold of this car, what would i need to remove or have in it for me to be able to swap the engine into my car?

I called the guy, he wants 5800 for the whole car, it was hit in the right front quarter panel, 56xxx miles on her. He wans 4k for just the engine and trans. Hows this sound? Way to much? or about right?

RE: Cobra Swap
I would take a look at it. My high mileage cobra I bought in perfect shape for less then 8.. so its up to you on what ya wanna do there. With no more mods then you have I would consider just selling yours and buying an SN cobra and build it up from there. Infact... click
It would definatly be cool to have the engine by itself... you could build it up before you drop it in the car.. new internals, headders, etc... but if your just wanting a straight swap and not building it up.. might wanna go a different route.

RE: Cobra Swap
See what you can get for just the engine, the trans should bolt right up. You will need to get a flywheel that will work, but your T-45 shouldnt have any problems bolting up to that 4.6.
I would check and see exactly what the damage is to the car, where it was hit, etc. There isnt a lot of room between the fender and the engine block, so I would definately see what happened and the extent of the damage.
