If its a 97 the cooling mod shouldnt apply.
Test drive it and check the tranny. The T-45 synchros have a habit of going bad in these cars as people tend to drive them a bit harder

umm....well by the looks of the moter it looked like it was owned to the max....the pipes comming from the radiator were burned and rusted....the car fax report said that it was in 2 accidents....and the engine was dirty......he also took it for a test drive and it felt as if the engine had no more compression......in his cobra, he poped the hood and everythin is clean and it runs like a charm
