GT Ring and Pinion numbers
I am new to this forum and I just purchased an '04 GT. The Dealer I purchased it from said it had a set of 3.55s. How can I determine what it has? Is there any way to find out whet else it came with, such as traction control, etc?
A lot of good info here. Hope I can tke advantage of it.

easiest way to tell is to jack the rear end up or put it on a lift. mark your drive shaft with a piece of tape or something, and turn your rear wheels. 1 full turn of the wheels should be 3 1/4 turns of hte drive shaft for 3.27's, 3 1/2 for 3.55's, etc.
As for traction control there would be a button and stuff if you had it. It would be down near the cig lighter I believe. I dont have it so I dont know exctly where its at.

3.55`s are in the newer GT`s. I dont even think 3.55`s were an option for the 04`s. You more than likely have 3.27`s. Jack up the car, turn the tire 1 revolution and count how mant times the driveshaft turns. If you have 3.27`s. The driveshaft will turn 3 1/4 turns. 3.55`s. You`ll get 3 1/2 turns.

nope i ordered mine and told them i didnt want it so mine came with a plug in the spot of the trac control....another way to tell is to see what RPM you turn doing 80 in 5th gear then use a gear calculator and see which matches your numbers....

Thanks for the info. Based on the info here and some specs I found elsewhere I'm pretty sure it has a set of 3.55s.

By the way Sprostang, Mine looks like yours except it is a convertable.

if its a 99-04 GT...i thought they all came with traction control. down by the fog lights and rear defroster buttons.

TC was an option on the deluxe and standard on the premium's. I don't have it.
