For the record, the specs on Royal Purple Synchromax in comparison to Havoline/Chevron Dexron III are as follows.

Havoline ATF specs:

Flashpoint 396 F
Pour Point -54 F
Viscosity @40C 35.5
Viscosity @100C 7.2
Viscosity Index 172


Synchromax specs:

Flashpoint 450F
Pour Point -40F
Viscosity @40C 35.3
Viscosity @100C 7.7
Viscosity Index 196

I'm a new 07' GT owner and haven't noticed a shifting problem, but I wonder if Mercon V might be a "cure". Mercon V is a syn blend if you are insisting on a synthetic. Some brands are group V and group II blends. It sure cured shifting problems in a friend's Toyota transmission. (rice).
