Default 3650 Short Throw MGW stops

I just got a MGW short throw shifter for my 2004 GT. How many times do i need to back off the front and back screws (stops) without damaging the transmission?

You dont need them. I took mine off. The trans has internal stops. The instructions should tell you this.

Yea and they say they also say they are critical. Will leaving them and adjusting them right damage anything?

I kept mine and I am a firm believer in keeping the stops.

if your instructions say not to use them, then don't. If they say to use them, then use them, but i can't help you with that. Only reason i am telling you this is because if the instructions say not to use them, and they are used improperly, they can cause the car to not fully engage in gear, which can cause damage.

if you install the stops correctly, i believe its like a half or full turn off of the end, it should not hurt the 3650. cuz when your shifting, the internal stops stop it, and the MGW stops are like additional insurence.

T-5's are the same way. I left mine in though and set them just out of reach of the shifter. So if I bang the gears extremely hard, it will hit the stop instead of banging the internal one.
