I have read many more posts warning about removing the screen than those praising its merits. Be careful and watch the results carefully. I have heard mostly that it can screw up your computer's readings. It also keeps crap from flying through your MAF and destroying the sensor. To me, it just isn't worth the chance of frogging up my Mustang's brain.

If it screwed up my computer power to it! I just got 27mpg, my last tank. Go naked MAF wires! Seriously, no ill effects whatsoever in my performance, idling, etc.

I don't see how it could mess up your computer as long as you don't hit or mess up the sensor when removing it. My C&L Mass Air Meter has no screen and I have not had any problems

Removed mine 6000 miles ago and no problems here. And I'm not worried about something damaging my MAF thats what my air filter is for.
