RE: 01 Waterpump/Tensioner
Never heard of a belt slipping in rain.. I do know the idle pulley bearing goes out often, but yours is a 01 I doubt the pulley would be bad unless you had put a supercharger on it then your pulley would go bad alot..Bend your belt back and fourth if it makes any crackling noise belt is going bad..

Autoconsumerguide.com= On GT models with manual trans, the serpentine belt might come off in wet weather. A revised tensioner and water pump pulley are available. (2000-01).
Mightyautoparts.com= also says serpentine belt tracking in alot of different fords during those years too.
Well, if this isnt generating much of a response on a mustang board then it probably is a fluke problem.

I had problems with an '00 5.4 F-150, but not at all with the wife's '01 Bullitt. I wouldn't worry about it I went through DROWNING T-storms on I-81 in that '01, never a wimper or noise.

RE: 01 Waterpump/Tensioner
My serpentine belt came off in the rain
I replaced it and a few weeks later during another rain storm the belt/pulleys started squealing again. I may replace the tensioner to be safe. Last time my belt flew off when I was pulling into my work parking lot.... could be worse on the freeway.
