bucking while getting on and off throtle at slow speeds in first
When steping on and off the gas at slow speeds in first and second the car bucks. It feels like the drive train has some wiggle before engaging?
I was curious if this is common.
I checked the tranny mount and it seemed to be intact.
Is there a brace that eliminates the drivetrain from moving back and forth or is this normal?
Its a 2002 gt 5 spd and this is kind of getting on my nerves now.

Mine has a lot of play, too. It's in the transmission for me so I think it is possible that my transmission mount is broken/damaged. You have the same transmission as me (TR3650) so it's altogther possible that the trannies just have a lot of play.

Yes this is common. Not a real good idea to be jammin the gas in first and letting off repeatedly anyway. But the TR3650 is notorious for being sloppy. So I wouldn't have a lot of worries until you start hearing a clanking or grinding. I've heard(keyword) that a cf driveshaft reduces this but I dunno if that's true, and otherwise don't possibly see how it could be...but who knows.

thats exactly what it is. drive line slack.
I looked at the drive shaft and I can see where it has moved back and forth because about 1-2 mm of it is very clean where it meets against something. not sure what "something" is called thoe.

It is in the transmission. When I had my rear apart (cobra brake swap) I turned the axle to see where the play was, and there was none from the axle back through the driveshaft, but I could hear a faint clunk when I changed the direction I was turning the axle, and it wasn't because of slack in the driveshaft... The sound was coming from the transmission... Stupid TR3650 [:@]

are you guys talking about when you just keep tapping the gas pedal and the car lunges back and forth? When I was first learning how to drive my 2000 5speed Mustang GT I was constantly jerking it back and forth in first and second gear but I don't do it much anymore.

That is normal, your computer regulates the IAC to bring idle speed back down slowly, so it exacerbates the situation, especially in first gear. All manual transmission vehicles are prone to driveline lash during accel/decel due to the solid lockup the clutch provides. Automatics don't show this as easily, due to the slip of the torque converter. I'm not positive, but I believe the idle speed coming down slowly is designed to minimize this effect, my opinion is it probably would be worse without it.
