what part of the country do you live in?
http://www.lislecorp.com/tool_search...=2&Search=fuel

Pep Boys carries them for like $5 and Autozone about $8

It's called a Fuel line disconnect tool, quick disconnect tool, or sometimes an AC/Fuel Line tool. It's normally in the weird tool section, not next to the sockets and monkey wrentches but where they have like brake tools and stuff.

Cool, thanks. I have never seen one of those before. So ten minutes ehh? Sounds like a winner. My car is about to hit 91K miles and it's running on original plugs, wires and fuel filter. I figure it's past due.

it's very easy, just vent the tank remove the clips clamp the tool around the tip of the filter push on the hose and the tool then pull back qickly, I have to do mine about 3 times a year because the gas here is crap. the pump will keep the gas from flowing out just leave the key's out.

i only asked because you should be able find that tool at any auto parts store unless you live in Timbuckto in which case it's a 'special order'

someone post a pic of this fuel line tool that is a necessity please. I guess I need to go buy one. It's almost spring cleaning time... Fuel filter, plugs, wires, radiator flush, and oil change.
you don't need that tool to change your fuel filter only 99+ needs it. Ours is just two clips you can get off w/ pliers/screwdriver
