Default It's been awile...

Almost 6 months since I've been on here.. Miss it.

....and guess what....my transmission went out. No forward, only reverse.

Time for another project. Will post pictures of everything.

The beginning... Saturday, dropping the pan and checking for metallic build up, flush the cooler and take off the h-pipe.

yes I know, jack stands, hydraulic jack are at first.

My father and I are building 4x4 plates for each wheel to use when we lift it up high enough.

Then using a endloader with forklift attachment. FUN.

Once the car is in the air (front first, then back, not the whole thing), we are going to set the crate like plates under neath the wheels.

Lifts are just too expensive, and I'm not about to crawl underneath with 18" of room.

The crate will look like this, but pieces wont be as long for more durability.

Before I start working on this tomorrow, Does anybody have any suggestions on whats possibly wrong with it?

All gears (forward) do not engage, if I rev it up high and leave it revved, it will slowly slip into gear and chirp the tires.

Reverse works fine.

Thanks

not the slightest idea. It sounds like a low fluid issue, but that would be no reverse as well. I know manuals a little bit but not much at all of automatics, it sounds like something internal is toast.

how many miles on the car and what has been done to it? You plan on working on it yourself or taking the trans to a shop?

at any rate, good luck! I'm on a similar mission

Fluid is fine. 54,000 miles.

The ecu is tuned with predator, a few transmission parameters changed, but that shouldnt be it, Ive been running this tune for quite awile now.

The transmission has always been "iffy" since Ive bought it, delayed down shifting, slipping taking a turn after letting off the gas and applying it, and a few others.

I think it may be metallic particles blocking the valve body, you need alot of pressure to go into forward gear vs reverse. It also could be the a clutch, who knows.

I'm taking it out myself, read a few posts above.

...and Yes, Im going to need good luck Thx dude.

Hey guys, been working on it all day. Can anybody find good pictures of the above view of the 4r70w/aode tranny?

Everything is disconnected, transmission wants to drop, but there is something holding it up still. Also would like to know if there are any
wiring harnesses or pipes going to the top of this trans.

Took some pictures today, will post after we're done.

Thanks
