3.73 Identification

Hey guys, Is there a way I can tell if I have 3.73 gears without opening the rear. I bought an 01 GT 5 speed used and it feels like it could be. I don't want to buy the gears and go to have them installed and when he opens it they are already there. That would be a huge waste of a lot of $.

Turn the driveshaft and count the revolutions the driveshaft makes compared to on revolution of the tires. Divide them and you will have your gear rating. Also, this might not be excact, as some tires are different sized on cars, but I have 3.73's, and I am cruising 2000rpm's at 60mph. My car is a 98GT by the way.
