lol... that's one of those things you do simply because you can and you don't ask questions. I certainly hope the guy didn't kill a GT for that

Default Rear wheel drive

Actually, I meant the limited slip diff. Someone told me until 94, mustangs had 7.5 diff, which he said one wheel would spin then the other would start spinning after the first one did. He said after 94, they had an 8.8, which meant both wheels would spin at the same time. Can anyone comment or clairify???? Thanx

That's the size of the rear end, not whether it has limited slip or not. Limited slip is between the one wheel peel cars that you're talking about and detroit locker (mechanically locking differential) cars. The limited slip has a system of clutch disks inside of it to make sure that if you're accelerating in a strait line the rear wheels are spinning at the same speed and you don't have the concern of losing traction in a sharp turn due to a locking diff.

Thanks for the info. So what type of diff does my '99 GT have? It's stock with the stock 5 speed t-45. Does that mean that both my rear wheels spin at the same time during acceleration??

8.8" rear with ford's trac-lock (read: limited slip) differential.

Both wheels -should- spin... maybe not at the same speed but very close, both wheels are getting power.
