ok your engine is just about the same as the new 5.4s which I have done spark plugs on at work. There are ways to get at everything w/o removing the fuel rail. You will just need a decent set of 1/4" sockets a few 1/4" extensions and maybe a 1/4" swivel. Just use thsoe and carefully wiggle the coil packs off of the plugs.

When the van came in I was like fu** I don't wanna pull the fuel rail, then I looked at it a few minutes and you don't have to.

I also reccomend putting a dab of anti seize on the threads because you may very well change them again down the road.

i just did mine last week, no need the remove the fuel rail. just unbolt the coils. (think it's an 8mm) get a good grip on the boot and wiggle it loose. to get to plug #'s 2-4 you may need to undo the intake tube and TPS harness to get better access to them.

Yes you dont need to unbolt the fuel rail. Unbolt the coils and pull them out. Go buy a 5/8 deep spark plug socket. You will need at least a 6 inch extension. I used a 9 inch and 3 inch together. The hardest one is the rear passenger side closest to the firewall. I recommend you do it first so you get the hard side done with. Be sure to put anti-sieze on the spark plugs when you install them.

I had to take out my intake to get the passenger side plugs out. It probably wasnt neccessary but it made it much easier. Just take your time and dont get frustrated.

nice. It's always great when a simple tuneup works and you get a noticable result.

Did plugs on my 97 and it ran a tid bit smoother but it still needs other sh** too
