Will Ford Tell Me?

RE: Will Ford Tell Me?
It has to crack before they fix it within 7 years of the warranty start date. If it's a 99 and you bought it in 98, you might want to check what part of the year you bought it. If you're not sure ask the dealer on the phone. They might ask you for your VIN and check to see if you qualify. If your intake doesn't crack, they won't replace it for you.

RE: Will Ford Tell Me?
well, i bought it in '04, so i have no idea if its been replaced yet or not
but since it is a 99, lets say at the latest it came out on Dec. 31st 1998, 7 years after that is Dec. 31st 2005, so any way i look at it, its been 7 years
so if it breaks, im gonna be pissed

You can tell if it's already been replaced. Look at the front of the intake manifold. If there is a small aluminum piece of tubing, it has been fixed. If the whole intake manifold is plastic and black, it hasn't.

My friend has a 2000 GT and is curious about this...How come certain people were sent a check for the $700 bucks, and some had it fixed...f he wanted to do it himself, could he still get reimbursed the $700, and how would he go about doing this?
