ORIGINAL: 2000GT4.6
I guess I am confused. Why does a heavyer car with less RWHP run a mid 11 on drag radials compared to a high 11 on a lighter car with more RWHP?? Your gonna pull a 1.6 on nittos?? I have a hard hard time seeing that. Hell, 1.7s is insane for nittos even with a good suspesion Not doubting ya here, but whats the deal?? This just doesn't make since.
I think someone is bull****ing you if they are saying they ahve a full intereior car running 10s on 400~ RWHP, espcially on drag radials. Maybe if the car weighed in around 2900 pounds then I could see it. But what fun is a gutted no a/c car??
Edit: are you basing all of this off of 1/8th mile strip times? I have very little faith in the 1/8th to 1/4 mile converters. It always seems to make a car run much faster than it really would. Seems like the 1/8th is 99.99 percent launch. I know launch is super important in the 1/4 mile as well, but at least in the 1/4 you have some time to let the horsepower make up for a 1.85~ short time. That is around what I hope to get once I get used to it on the nittos. 1.7s, jeez. Don't tell me thats on the stock suspesion!

The second link has someone in the 10's w/o anything done to the motor except bolt-ons. I understand he's light and pulls the wheels, but still, you get the point.
And yes, I have pulled a best of 1.66 on Nitto's. At the time, the suspension was 100% bone stock. I currently have sub frame connectors...that's it. I have this on video btw, but the only way to prove it was on Nitto's and bone stock suspension is just by my buddy who taped it, he's a member here with a foxbody.
I don't use converters to find what I should run in the 1/4. I go by my short time, my ET, and my mph. There's several thousand LS1 cars well into the mid 11's that have worst trap speeds than my car and pull worst 60's.
But you could be right, we all know how LS1's seem to fall flat on their face up top...[8D]

Added the video of me going a 1.66 short time. I NEVER went out of the 1.7's...even on motor I was going 1.7's. All on Nitto 555r's and bone STOCK suspension.
