Importance of Anti-Lock Breaking system

am buying a 1996 GT.... how important is the ABS, considering living in Chicago.... would appreciate all comments.

i wouldnt say its important...it the rain it helps alot...but in snow and ice it ****s you over...but i doubt you will be driving your stang in those conditions...

Not important, but will help you if it's slippery and loose control....just like ANY other car.
