New Engine Help
There have been many threads recently on people looking to build new engines and I am in the same boat right now. I plan on starting late this year. I've been looking at this block http://www.modulardepot.com/product_...roducts_id=258 and am wondering what else I would need to buy or can I swap over a lot of parts from my current 4.6 L. What do you reccomend I purchase new? I've been talking to my shop and I just wanted some other opinions.

Very nice block, but that's just it: Its only a block. So think of your 281 now, imagine all of the parts inside and out of the block, and that's what you will need to make this 5.4 runnable. You're gonna need all of the bottom end internals, all of the top end parts(heads, cams, intake, wiring, etc), and a whole bunch of other odds and ends. It is not gonna be cheap whatsoever. To build a 5.4 for your car, I'd imagine you're going to have $10k in it.
EDIT: I just saw on there: You have to modify the block to get the starter to work on a Mustang.
