Question New Owner Question

I just got my first Mustang. '04 4.6l V8. Came with after market exhaust. VERY LOUD. Just found out the guy before had strait pipes, no CATs. Now I have to purchase and install CATs before Nov. to pass emissions. How many are supposed to be on the car to just barely pass? I don't want to lose my sound.

Obviously you have never been here....

CA is every 2 years. If you buy brand new, then it is 4 years after purchase if I remember right. Supposedly starting in 2013 or 2014 any car built 2004 or newer will only be required to be hooked up and checked for codes, no tailpipe test! (I really hope this happens) I am gonna guess that it is up to the inspector though. I am guessing if you rolled up with no cats, you car is getting on those rollers.
