which route should i take?
 

alright guys i want to run 10s-mid 11s in a 1/4.......i have a 2000 mustang gt....what i need to know is which route to go? build a engine and spray bout 200 shot of nitrous or build a engine and but a blower on it? which way would give me the most horsepower? or is it possible to put nitros and blower on?....someone please help b/c i will soon be starting the engine build

I wouldn't see why you couldn't put nitrous in a supercharged engine. As long as you forge the internals and don't use too much boost psi, I think you should be fine. Sounds like you got some big bucks to put in your car :) lucky

Edit: Oh forgot to mention, you probably need to lower the compression a lot too..im sure you already know all this stuff tho cuz I'm kind of a newb too...

i just plan on gettin a vt engine built engine and then throwing a blower or nitrous or twin turbos on it...i will probably just use 1 of the power adders.....need to decide which route to go though

I heard twin turbos are very pricey but very effective, you also probably need a stronger block to run it but hey if you've got the cash go for it. Blown engine with upgraded cylinder heads, cams, and forged internals would be sweet. While you're getting the internals you should get low-compression forged pistons. If you use nitrous I think you can not run something with a lot of hp shot while running with a blower. I'm not 100% positive about all of my info i just typed b/c I'm new with this and it's basically all what I've heard here so wait until some more knowledgable ppl throw in their 2 cents. But yeah VT i heard is a good brand.

might just get a bad ass forged engine from vt engines and then throw on the 2.2 KB charger and hope for the best!i just wanna turn my car into a weekend cruiser, and get a ol' beater to drive around all the tiem!

hmm..forged engine for a KB 2.2? I don't know if thats necessary...don't want to spend more money than you need

for a kb 2.2 i know that i need a forged engine to up the boost.....i would love to get bout 20 lb of boost out of the kb2.2 so therefore i will have to have a very build engien to withstand the boost

Yeah the 2.2 does 9-27 lbs of boost... wonderful :D

The 1.7 does 6-14 lbs... so for that, too, a forged short block could be in order.

go with the blower man. think about it...if you get a NO2 setup, you're only gonna have that much horsepower when you spray and when you run out, you will need to refill your bottle which is more money...if you get a blower, you spend money once, and you can have fun in any street. if you have the money, get your **** forged with the 2.2!! you'd need to beef up your rear end and other things too. it won't be a cheap or a weekend project, but it will be a hell of a weekend car.

If you are asking what it takes, then you need to do more research before you begin.. All this motor work is going to get you nowhere without a GREAT suspension setup..

Ditch the KB and either run turbos or vortech..
