OOoooh....Storage Insurance???? Probably, or else you wouldn't be sweating this. Bummer man.

I would guess, the sensor is behind the bumper somewhere, it should be easy to spot. I know that other cars have a sticker on it saying not to touch it, it's the airbag sensor. I'll look when I get home and let you know if I find it.

thanks...had not taken insurance off yet but do not have collision and my son only has a permit so insurance is out of the question (unless the pole has any )

Ran that one by my wife who works for Farmers Insurance, she said it doesn't matter who was driving the car. The car is insured, not the driver. If the police didn't show up, she said, tell them you were driving. No Police report...No proof.

Nevermind...You said you didn't have collision.

Yeah, you're S.O.L.

yeah, I know...that's why I am trying to do this myself...once I pulled the fender and splash guard off and saw no damage beyond the fender, I wanted to run out and get a new fender and slap it on...the only thing holding me back is getting the damn car started...I don't want to buy the fender and then find out that the car won't start because of some major problem. I think it has something to do with the starter (and maybe some kind of stupid reset device for the airbags). Thanks for your concern! Neil

hook a scanner up and see what it says. when the bags deployed, it most likely through some kind of safety code.
