i have a 99 gt with the 5 speed in it, under power the car is stuttering, i think it maybe the clutch, what do you guys think? also if it is the clutch what would be a good strong clutch that can take a little abuse once and awhile?

If it is the cluch more than likely its the pressure plate thats causing the problem. Its hard to say, even a slight miss in the motor can cause a shutter, a bad spark plug?.............but yes it could be the clutch, normally they just slip but if it shutters then its trying to grab. I used the king cobra clutch from ford racing. I am totaly happy w/it. It can handle more power, just looking at it compared to the stock one was silly, the springs were way bigger. It feals better in the petal and does a good job. The one thing that has sucked with every clutch kit I have put in from ford on the mustang is the stupid throughout bearings always make noise, even when there new. But it is only heard by an ear that listens for it.

im goin to have my auto shop teacher take it for a spin and see what he thinks, if its the clutch i think i may go with the king cobra clutch.

u probly have a misfire in one of ur cylinders so i would check ur plugs and wires first. thats what happened to me.

also where in south eastern michigan would be a good place to have my car tuned?
