Default Tire Question

I know some of ya'll are running some big tires on your Mustangs. I have 96 GT and I am going to Bullitt rims for it. My question is, can I get the 17x10.5 Deep Dish Bullitt's for the rear? What is the largest size of tire I can run there. What kind of offset do you have?

I have 18X10 with no offset and they fit fine, I am even looking at puting a spacer back there.

Yes, you can run them just fine... Either a 315/35 series tire or even larger 335/35 series tire on those rims... I personally had a problem with one of my quad shocks occasionally rubbing the tire during turns and braking, but I have never heard anyone else run into any problems...

I have the 17x10.5 deep dish anthracite bullitt rims...

I have 17X10.5 black bullitts with 315/35/17's on my 96 gt. They fit good exept the car is lowered 2 inches and the fenders have made small cuts in the sidewalls. They aren't deep so i dont worry about it. Is you suspension stock?

If you only want to run a 40 series tire, then you should look into 17x9's for the rear and run a 275/40 series tire.. If you keep wanting to go bigger on the sidewall, it will look funny, since stock is already a 45 series.

I guess what I am looking for is the biggest, fattest rear tire I can put on the rear rims without worrying about scrubbing. I guess I just need to see a Mustang in person that has ya'lls tire sizes on it.

If you really wanted to get rid of some of the gap without lowering, you might have to step it up to 18's... But why not lower the stang, it'll look much nicer that way? If you don't go too low, you won't have any problem with it rubbing.
